The big raffle:
Our big raffle took place on Friday 27th July and raised just over 4,000 euro. My thanks again to all those who supported us by donating prizes, cash or buying tickets. My thanks to all those students who sold tickets and helped us reach our target, especially the O'Connor and Daly families who worked so hard selling tickets. The prize winners are as follows

Kayla O’Connor and Jason Daly
Congratulations to Kayla O’Connor and Jason Daly who both secured their place on the Irish team for the world Kickboxing championships in Germany in August ’07.
They had to finish in third or higher place at the eliminations in Dublin earlier this year. Jason finished in second place for both sparring and Tul and Kayla with two first places in
sparring and Tul, thereby securing their place on the team.
We are holding a raffle to raise money to help them on their way and we have some fantastic prizes donated by some very generous and thoughtful businesses in Ballinasloe
and Loughrea town. The draw will take place during the summer camp. It will be done by our very own Garda - many thanks to Mrs Eileen O’Connor for agreeing to do this and for
her help and advice in setting it all up. In addition to this several businesses have made a cash donation in the form of sponsorship, for which we are very grateful.
Both of these young people have shown great dedication and commitment to Taekwon-Do. They never miss training and go to great extremes to get in extra sessions,
even travelling to Cork on Sunday morning at 7am to train with the Irish squad. We are extremely proud of them both and they take with them our best wishes for a fantastic
tournament. As their instructor I have great hopes and wishes for them both, and I know they will do us proud and acquit themselves well in Germany.
Finally, I must thank the parents, Gerry and Olive Daly and Imelda and Brendan O’Connor, who have given of their free time to take them to extra training and tournaments
and indeed have come up with the idea of the raffle and have done most of the work in getting prizes and sponsorship for it.
